Interior designer Victoria Von Westenholz transformed a London girls’ bathroom into a space that feels both joyful and serene
When it comes to interiors, Victoria Von Westenholz has design in her DNA. Having grown up surrounded by antiques and interiors thanks to her father, the renowned Piers von Westenholz, Victoria’s approach to design is both intuitive and deeply personal. “I always use family and my client’s family as a starting point,” she explains. “What will work for them, how will they use the space, what will feel like home now and for the future - how will the client grow with and within their home?”
It is this sensitivity to people and place that shines through in her recent project: a girls’ bathroom in a London family home. The brief was for a light, comfortable space with character - and Victoria has delivered a room that feels at once timeless, elegant, and full of personality.
At the heart of the scheme is the shower, where Victoria utilised our 13x13cm Crackle Glaze Floral Delft Corner tiles. Hand painted with delicate, but vivid Rosalind brushstrokes, the tiles lend a sense of heritage charm, while the clean Chalk White base keeps the look fresh and modern.
“My client isn’t afraid of bold choices, and these tiles seemed the perfect fit,” Victoria shares. “We had a colour scheme in mind, and we both instantly fell for them. The shower feels both striking and serene.”
The design perfectly balances character with calmness - a hallmark of Victoria’s interiors.
Adorned with our Floral Delft corner tiles, the shower comes alive with pattern and grace, transforming the bathroom into a charming, artful retreat.
For Victoria, bathrooms are never just functional. “Bathrooms should always be a calm and relaxing space,” she explains. “Sometimes even more so than the bedroom! It might be a mother’s only ‘alone time’ for the day. A bathroom is a room to escape into.”
To support that sense of retreat, she layered in elegant details: gold taps and fixtures to bring warmth and sophistication, and Nicholas Herbert wallpaper that pulls the scheme together, softening the overall feel. The result is a space that is cosy, characterful, and undeniably elegant - far beyond a utilitarian washroom.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Victoria notes how easy the process was: “You were always incredibly efficient and easy to deal with. My client was super happy with both the process of order and delivery as well as the finished product!”
When asked what guidance she would give to anyone embarking on a renovation with an interior designer, Victoria’s advice is refreshingly simple: “It’s a joy! Allow it to be a fun and happy experience. Find the right match in your interior designer, someone with whom you can be completely honest.”
