About the Role

We are looking for a practical, organised and proactive Warehouse and Logistics Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our dispatch and order fulfilment operations.

Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and our Customer Service & Sales Administrator, this role sits at the centre of the order process - helping to ensure that customer orders move smoothly from sale through production, packing and dispatch to final delivery.

The position combines logistics coordination, practical warehouse operations and customer communication, and would suit someone who enjoys a varied role that balances practical hands-on work with administrative coordination.

The successful candidate will help maintain the high standards of quality, organisation and customer service that Marlborough Tiles is known for.

 

Key Responsibilities


Office based responsibilities:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers by phone and email
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to confirm stock availability
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments and customer communications within internal systems
  • Book domestic and international shipments with courier and freight partners
  • Track shipments and follow up on delayed deliveries where required
  • Liaise with customers to confirm delivery arrangements and keep them informed of progress
  • Liaise with shipping companies to resolve delivery issues and organise redeliveries where necessary
  • Seek compensation from couriers where appropriate for delayed or damaged shipments
  • Carry out cost checks to ensure best value when booking shipments or purchasing packaging materials
  • Use the Unleashed inventory system to:
    • Create assemblies and update stock levels
    • Process orders and dispatch notes
  • Liaise with colleagues to resolve stock discrepancies or order issues
  • Handle customer queries relating to deliveries, damaged goods or items lost in transit
  • Assist with ordering materials and supplies for production and office needs where required
  • Provide general telephone support and take inbound calls where required
  • Assist customers visiting the showroom when required

 

Warehouse responsibilities:

  • Pick and pack customer orders, including samples, boxed orders and palletised shipments of tiles and ancillary products
  • Print shipping labels and prepare dispatch documentation
  • Receive, check and book in deliveries from suppliers
  • Raise purchase orders to suppliers where required
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining organised stock storage and dispatch processes
  • Operate a forklift for loading and unloading deliveries (valid forklift licence required)
  • Assist with hand ageing of tiles as part of the production process when required
  • Support the production team during busy periods to help maintain workflow and deadlines

 

 

 

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and enjoys being part of a collaborative team. Candidates with prior experience in logistics, order processing or customer service will be preferred, although full training will be provided.

 

Essential

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Practical, hands-on approach to work
  • Comfortable using computer systems and inventory software

 

Desirable

  • Experience in logistics, warehouse operations or dispatch coordination
  • Experience using inventory management systems (such as Unleashed)
  • Experience working with courier and freight providers
  • Valid Forklift licence

This role is based at the Marlborough Tiles factory and showroom, working closely with our production, warehouse and sales teams. It offers a varied working environment combining office coordination, warehouse operations and customer support.

Due to the nature of the role and location of our factory, it would suit an applicant who can easily commute to our site with own transport.

 

 

Salary & Benefits

  • £21,500 per year
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (32.5hrs per week)
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) pro-rata
