The art of colour: pairing paint and tiles with the Bloomsbury collection

The Bloomsbury collection, launched this month, is a celebration of colour - bold, expressive and full of character. Yet even the most vibrant tiles can be elevated when paired with the right paint shades. Whether you prefer a soft neutral backdrop or a bolder, more dramatic contrast, the right combination can transform a space.

Here, we’ve paired each tile from the Bloomsbury collection with some of our favourite paint colours from leading British paint houses, including Farrow & Ball and Little Greene, to help you create beautifully balanced and inspiring interior schemes.

Ethel’s Sand

A soft, natural beige with a warm undertone, Ethel’s Sand has a gentle ease to soften any space, and it pairs beautifully with gentle and warm neutrals, or contrast with deep greens or browns for dramatic effect.

Grant’s Gold

Reminiscent of Little Greene Sunlight, Grant’s Gold brings a mellow, sun-washed glow to interiors. Try it with whites for freshness, warm browns for an earthy balance, or deep blues for a bold statement.

Sepia

A rich golden neutral, Sepia offers warmth and depth to your room. Pair with a white or pale beige for a classic look, or introduce a grey-blue for a soft, painterly scheme.

Woolf Green

Understated and grounding, Woolf Green sits beautifully alongside whites and neutrals with a green undertone for a sophisticated palette. Alternatively, pair with deeper murky-green shades for contrast.

Parlour Green

Inspired by the faded greens of Charleston’s painted walls, Parlour Green is akin to Farrow & Ball Lichen. It pairs elegantly with soft off-whites, greiges and green-toned neutrals for a palette that feels quietly timeless. For a bolder look, why not combine it with touches of soft pinks and plaster hues for a classic yet painterly effect.

Duncan’s Pink

A gentle, barely-there blush, Duncan’s Pink brings softness and romance to your walls. Complement with warm toned whites, bolder pinks and warm browns to create a cosy yet uplifting space.

Dalloway Rose

A delicate blush pink Dalloway Rose pairs effortlessly with warm neutrals and a range of pink shades, from paler barely-there Hollyhock, to the enveloping Ashes of Roses. For a crisp contrast, pair with a bright white to draw attention to the pink tiles in the room.

Charleston Red

A confident, earthy red in the vein of Farrow & Ball Picture Gallery Red, Charleston Red brings richness and depth to kitchens, bathrooms or hallways. Try it with neutrals to create a statement, from off-whites to light earthy browns. It pairs wonderfully with gentle earthy greens, too.

Victorian Blue

Victorian Blue is a classic mid-blue that feels both familiar and fresh. Pair with cool neutrals and pale grey shades for light, or contrast with darker cool blues such as Selvedge.

Lighthouse Blue

Echoing the calm sophistication of Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue, Lighthouse Blue pairs beautifully with cool neutrals as well as soft blues, or even deep blue or charcoal tones for contrast.

Together they create a layered, modern palette rooted in tradition.

Studio Blue

A deep, dramatic hue reminiscent of Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, Studio Blue makes a bold yet timeless statement. Balance it with warm neutrals or soft cool blues to suit your scheme.

Alternatively, it works wonderfully with cool bright whites, such as Farrow & Ball's All White, for clean contrast.

Every shade in the Bloomsbury collection is designed to work both as a standalone statement and as part of a carefully balanced palette.

Whether you are drawn to the warmth of Grant’s Gold, the quiet elegance of Parlour Green or the painterly charm of Lighthouse Blue, each tile invites you to create a home full of personality - and just a touch of artistry.
