British artisan tile makers

We have been making high quality wall tiles by hand since the 1930s, exploring the visual potential of elegant hand painted designs and richly coloured glazes. Today, as Britain’s leading artisan tile producer, we’re still driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of our craft.

Our handmade and hand painted tiles are created specifically for your order by artisans at our factory in Marlborough, in the south west of England. Production and delivery to the USA typically takes 10-12 weeks. All international orders are sent via courier, with tracking. Wilding collection

Corner Motif

Hand painted Delft tiles with playful and untamed animals from the English countryside.

Our Wilding collection reimagines the classic Delft style, with nine untamed and playful creatures from the English countryside, individually painted by hand in the traditional Delft blue on our handmade, rustic biscuit. These charming British tiles will bring delight and character to any living space, and we have no doubt will ignite the imagination of your little ones.

Marlborough Matts is a collection of paper-smooth, perfectly flat tiles, developed to harmonise with Britain’s best loved paint colours – from the likes of Edward Bulmer, Farrow and Ball, Lick and Neptune. Shown here in Slate Blue.

The designers at Neptune selected our hand painted Cockerel panels in timeless Charcoal as a centrepiece for this beautiful farmhouse kitchen. The choice of images within our collections is large – from farmland birds to kitchen utensils, from flowers to words. Or for something completely bespoke, you can even request hand painted words and images of your choosing. Every one of our tiles are painted to order, and as such can be created in a colour to suit your scheme.

This gorgeous brick tile in subtle blue-grey is part of a hand crafted collection named Savernake after one of the historic streets of Marlborough in England, where our company was founded more than 85 years ago. The palette of six intense, timeless colours has been developed to accompany any trending colour scheme for kitchen or bathroom.

These beautiful hand painted tiles from Follies collection feature pretty vintage patterns inspired by the chic yet cosy feel of curbside Parisian cafés. Follies is one of our best loved and most popular hand painted collections, and creates a delightful backdrop for any kitchen or a bathroom. They add a delicate touch to this bold kitchen, designed by Neptune.

We have been painting Delft tiles by hand since we were founded in 1936. Each one is painted to order by our team of extraordinarily talented artists, directly onto raw glaze in the traditional Majolica technique. The tiles shown in this image are landscapes from our Delft Contemporary Classics collection.

A customer favourite, our Savernake collection of handmade wall tiles features classic square and brick shaped tiles with a beautifully undulating surface, in a dramatic palette of inky greys and blues. Shown here in Manton Hollow.

With its delicate pattern of botanical tendrils, the Emma collection draws inspiration from vintage floral wallpapers. Each tile is painted by hand, and features our signature crackle glaze – stained by hand for a charming, aged look. This collection is available in both Sage Green and Flax Blue.

The Isles collection is our love letter to the Hebrides - a collection of handmade wall tiles developed in response to the rugged and irregular natural beauty of the Scottish Isles. It features a rustic tile body with an organic finish, rich with the textural irregularities that are a feature of stoneware, such as flecking and speckling. Shown here in Argyll.

This stunning Neptune kitchen features our hand-decorated Ettie tiles behind the range cooker, in Wool — perfectly complementing the Flax blue cabinetry, and bringing a soft vintage delicacy to the space.

A devotion to our craft

Our story

Think of wall and floor tiles and you’re likely to imagine functional rectangles in busy areas like bathrooms, kitchens and halls. But for us, a tile is where science meets art. Each one represents the sum total of experimentation, learning, technique and passion passed down for generations.
